Orange is a fruit favored by many. It tastes great not only alone but also as part of a delicious dish. Here is how to prepare an orange island chicken.
Before you start preparing the dish, remember to collect the following ingredients:
– 1/2 cup of
orange juice,
– 1/3 cup of soy sauce,
– 1 teaspoon of ground ginger,
– 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder,
– 1 teaspoon of orange zest,
– 3 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips,
– 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour,
– 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
After you’ve done that, here you can find instructions regarding the preparation of an orange island chicken:
1. First,
you have to start from preparing the marinade. Combine the orange juice, soy
sauce, ginger, onion powder and orange peel in a zipper style bag. Remember to
mix everything well.
2. Follow it up with adding the chicken pieces to the marinade and
refrigerating it all overnight, or for at least 8 hours.
3. After that, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove the
chicken from the marinade. (Note: don’t get rid of the marinade) and coat it
with flour. Next, heat the oil and brown the chicken over medium high heat in a
big skillet. Transfer to a 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour the remaining marinade
over chicken, cover and bake it in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Finish it
off with removing the cover and baking for another 15 minutes. Let the dish
cool and serve it.
